Firas Alawneh obtained his B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid- Jordan. He serves currently as a faculty member with an academic rank “Industrial Professor” at the Energy Engineering Department in the School of Natural Resources Engineering and Management (SNREM) at the German Jordanian University (GJU), Amman-Jordan. He worked for more than 20 years in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency industry before teaching. He served for many years at the National Energy Research Center (NERC) / Royal Scientific Society (RSS) as a manager for the Photovoltaics (PV) Division before he became the director of the center. He has also served as a trainer and consultant in the field of energy sustainability in Jordan and has actively participated in various international projects related to renewable energy and energy efficiency.
